The gentleman in the brief video above is Chuck. He is a character unto himself to say the least. The best friend of my brother in law John he has been a long term attendee of the Farley Open. A tremendous golfer when it is not Miller Time or when pink elephants around. The problem is neither of those times ever exist. If he has participated in 15 Farley Open’s, he has finished probably 2 of them. Every year he proclaims that his game is tight, that his two iron is hot, that he is winning the Farley Open this year. By the time October comes around he may or may not go, has to be berated consistently and shamed into showing up and then he either gets injured, quits mid round and just rides in the cart & smokes doobies, or gets angry with John for being mean to him the whole time. In the video above you see him accepting my bet, with 5:1 odds, that he will not finish in the top ten at the Farley Open and saying that he is so serious that he will stab me if he doesn’t which of course is all taken in jest...we think.

How does this pertain to the Al’s Nest? This guy is a noted partier. No kids. No woman. No prospects really to live past 50. He, John, and my other brother in law Jarett have been repeatedly invited to the Al’s Nest Open for 8 years with no takers. One day soon we hope they all will show up as we have so much fun at the Farley Open that it would be nice to see them in June as well. But unlike the two married brother in laws who are “canned tuna”, there is really no reason for Chuck not to join us in June. One day, hopefully before he turns 50, he will.
