Great Bear

Only one golf course designer could do justice to the natural beauty at Great Bear Golf Club—the one known worldwide as the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus.

His 18-hole championship design demonstrates why he has been considered the master of his game for decades. Nicklaus has taken the natural advantages of the site and worked harmoniously with them to create a course that is an experience in golf and aesthetics.

Integrating the three lakes, several streams, wetlands, small bridges and rolling terrain, Nicklaus has created a course that presents itself differently to golfers of varying skill levels. For the experienced player, the course offers interesting challenges and pro tees that will bring out the best in even the strongest golfers. Yet it's also designed to be a course with the ultimate in fairness and playability. It ensures for golfers of all abilities an enjoyable experience, round after round, and reveals its intricacies and craftsmanship the more you play it.

Country Club of the Poconos

An Al's Nest staple for the first 5 years, this course is tight, wooded, and rarely does it have a cart girl and if it does it is most likely a Gladys or an Edna.  We have enjoyed many a battle here.  So many memories.  The 50 ft snake drained by Yashin to win the Inaugural Al's Nest.  The foursome ahead of me and Jones that crashed their golf carts into trees because of horseplay.  My shot off the cone on 18 for $100 of Brett's dollars. My drive on one that was driven so hard into the ground it went backwards!  CCOP is not the best or most well-maintained course but it holds a special place in Al's Nest lore.

Skytop

Set atop the peak of a high plateau, no other Poconos golfing vacation offers a mountain-style track that plays over rolling terrain and boasts wide, tree-lined fairways and small greens that challenge players of all levels. Above average in speed, this course incorporates water on two holes and plenty of strategically placed bunkers over its 6,656 yards, enjoyable for the casual player and serious golfer alike.

Paupack Hills

Through the use of “width that matters” and strategic placement of features, this Tom Fazio design delivers an outstanding experience to all levels of golfers. From the raw beginner, to the most skilled player, Paupack Hills Golf Club has been designed to maximize the enjoyment of the game for everyone. Breathtaking views of Lake Wallenpaupack are a site to behold. With a commitment to tradition and excellence, Tom Fazio has created a masterpiece for the ages that walk and/or ride, worthy of the highest level of competition, and most importantly fun to play.

Jack Frost

Jack Frost National Golf Club embraces the Pocono Mountains with all of its magnificent vistas and elevation changes. Different than most mountain courses, Jack Frost National also provides wide fairways, easily identified target areas, few uneven lies and no blind shots.

Considered a “large golf course” spanning over 7,200 yards, and more than 200 acres, the course covers magnificent terrain, beautiful landscapes and offers striking vistas and views. The course is located on the crest of Jack Frost Mountain that encompasses an elevation of 2000 ft and the natural Oak Forest highlights the movement of each golf hole.
